最先引起我对这首歌的关注的，是岩井俊二的电影《燕尾蝶》。日本女歌手Chara（恰拉）那稚嫩微薄的嗓音夹杂着破碎的忧伤，用她自己的方式沙哑地喊出“I did my way”……
而这首经典之作的诞生则有另一幕背景：当时美国乐坛的传奇人物、奥斯卡影星弗兰克·辛纳屈已经53岁，巅峰已过，倦意渐生。也许出于共同的爱好和相似的经历，他与歌手兼词曲作家保罗·安卡（Paul Anka）结为忘年之交。28岁的Paul Anka买下法国热门原曲（Claude francois的《Comme d'Habitude》）的版权，改编并重新填词，交由辛纳屈演绎。1969年，辛纳屈凭借《My Way》唱响了自己的人生道路上最经典的谢幕曲。
众多翻唱者中，要数猫王埃尔维斯·普雷斯利（Elvis Presley）的名声最响；1977年此曲的翻唱版本成为猫王首张单曲遗作，也成为其最后一张百万畅销单曲。2001年，罗比·威廉姆斯（Robbie Williams）在那场英国皇家亚伯厅演唱会上所唱的压轴曲就是这首《My Way》，身穿八号球衣的他在观众的和声中不能自己地流下了眼泪……
Frank的沧桑，Elvis的深沉，Robbie的不拘，Chara的勇敢，歌手们用不同的声音对这首歌作了不同的诠释。风华正茂的青年唱的是义无反顾的决心；韶华退去的过客所唱，则是对其一生一个恳切而坚定的回答。
