cut to the chase: get to the main point (切入正题;开门见山)。例如:
Paul, why don't you cut to the chase and tell us what happened after dinner?

② Is she just trying to curry favour?还只是为了获取好感而已?
curry favour: do things in order to try to gain others' support or co-operation(奉承某人,拍马屁)。例如:
Political candidates often portray themselves as the sweet dad or sweet mom to curry favour with the voters.

③ I don't think she gives two hoots about sports.我觉得她根本不懂体育。
do not give two hoots: do not care about sth. at all(满不在乎,瞧不起,认为一钱不值)。例如:
