凯瑞·穆里根可以说是2010年英美影坛收获的最大惊喜!

Host:…and raised in London as well, …

Carey: Well, yeah, until I was three and I lived in Germany until I was eight, so…
Host: Oh, so when you were three you got your own place, you’re fed up, you’re moving out.
Carey: Yeah, like, “I’m done with this place, I’m over it, I’m 1)jaded.” And we went to Germany. My dad was a hotel manager, so...
Host: Oh, OK.
Carey: We lived there and then came back to live in London when I was a bit older.
Host: Did you live in the hotel?
Carey: We lived in the hotel; we lived on the top floor ’cause…
Host: OK.
Carey:…in most hotels there’s a little apartment…
Host: Right.
Carey:…for the manager on the top floors.
Host: So did you just have the run of the hotel? Was that fun?
Carey: It was. We were like little hotel bugs, you know, we would go in after people had checked out and, like, look under the bed and try and find things that’d been left behind and steal them.
Host: Really? Now did you ever find anything good? Was there anything cool?
Carey: We found a penknife once.
Host: A penknife.
Carey: Yeah, and I have a scar on my finger from playing with it, which was a big mistake, but no, not really, just garbage.
Host: Yeah, it can’t be good when people leave knives behind in hotel rooms.
Carey: No! No and it wasn’t that kind of hotel, so I don’t know what that was about.
Host: Yeah, OK. So, how did the whole acting thing get started? Did it start in Germany?
Carey: It did! My brother, who is now in the army and has nothing to do with acting, was in a school play and he was in The King and I, and I was six and I wasn’t old enough, I wasn’t allowed to be in it, so I went to watch 2)rehearsals, but I watched him and I was so jealous that I just started crying and crying until they had to stop rehearsals and deal with this crying six-year-old and in the end the director just put me in and dyed my hair black and I was one of the kids in The King and I.
Host: Really?! Now, has that worked for you later in life as well? I mean does this…
Carey: Yeah, I just 3)stomp…and I used to do that actually is to get into night clubs in London when I was too young and I didn’t have any ID.
Host: Yeah.
Carey: I would just start making a really big scene and, like, weeping about how I was too young and they just sort of ushered me in…
Host: And they would let you in?
Carey: Yeah, ’cause no one wants, like, a crying 4)hysterical girl outside their nightclub.
Host: Wow! Alright. Now I read somewhere that you got a lot of male roles when you were a kid. Is that true?
Carey: I did! Well, I wanted them, you know, ’cause they’re better. We did The Crucible once and I’d seen the film with Winona Ryder and Daniel Day-Lewis, and I’d seen him doing the whole…so I came in one day and I got this sort of5)gunge and put it on my teeth and was on the floor like, “Give me my name,” and doing this whole Daniel Day-Lewis 6)impersonation.
Host: Right.
Carey: It was so horrible, but I pretty much did that the whole way through school; I was always trying to be the boy.
Host: I mean did you try to get into college on an acting deal, or…?
Carey: I did. I failed, but I did try. But I was sort of, you know, I haven’t had one those sort of tortured artist lives. I’ve had a really sort of happy life and I decided that to get into drama school you had to be terribly serious, so I went and did a piece by Sarah Kane called Psychosis 4:48, which is, by the title, kind of…it’s about suicide, and the author died, committed suicide just after she wrote it and so, I was there, this terribly well-adjusted middle-class girl sort of 7)slitting my wrists, and I don’t think they were terribly impressed, so…
Host: Now, so you didn’t get in.
Carey: I was out. No I didn’t get in anywhere.
Host: So…so you had to go get an Oscar 8)nomination, so, so…
Carey: Yeah, yeah, yeah, be on the way.
Host: Maybe this could get you into college. Maybe you could get an in with the nomination.
Carey: I’m hoping.

主持:嗯,好了。你的演艺事业是怎样开始的?是从在德国的时候就开始的吗?
凯瑞:真的是这样!我的哥哥——他现在参军了,他没干演艺这一行——他那时参演学校里的一出戏,他参演了《国王与我》,我当时六岁,年龄不够大,不给参演。于是我就去看彩排,但我看着他,很嫉妒,于是就开始不停地哭,一直哭到他们得停下来哄这个哭喊着的六岁小鬼。最后,导演让我参演,把我的头发染黑,我就成了《国王与我》中的一员。
主持:真的?!那这招在你日后的人生中也管用吗?我是说这么做……
凯瑞:对,我就是跺脚……我以前为了进伦敦的夜店也用过这招,那时我太小,还没有身份证。
主持:对。
凯瑞:我会大吵大闹,比方说,声泪俱下地说我怎么太小了,然后他们就让路给我进去……
主持:他们就会让你进去?
凯瑞:对,因为没人希望在他们的夜店门外有个哭得歇斯底里的女孩。
主持:哗!好了。我从别处看过说你小时候演过很多男性角色。真的吗?

Carey Mulligan on her chemistry with Shia Leboeuf.
Carey: We got on from the first time we met in Oliver’s office, and Oliver sort of would pick one of us apart and pick the other one apart and then make us have an argument and, you know, you start having debates about things.
Carey Mulligan says she and boyfriend Shia Leboeuf totally hit it off during their first meeting for Wall Street 2.
Shia: I’m usually running from 9)aliens, you know, or 10)tagging along with Indiana Jones, or, you know, things like that.
The film is a departure from Shia’s regular roles, but Mr. LeBoeuf enjoyed working with his real-life leading lady, and Michael Douglas, who he says is a living legend.
Carey Mulligan gushes over Shia LeBoeuf’s talent.
Carey: Shia and I both work similarly. We both really like, I mean we really enjoy 11)improvising and12)adlibbing. He adlibs all the time, pretty much non-stop.
A casual Carey Mulligan says she and boyfriend Shia LeBoeuf work well together on screen as well as off. In an interview over the weekend at the Cannes Film Festival to promote Wall Street 2, Shia also wore shades and revealed his measure of success no longer means having more money.
Shia: Well, I was able to buy my parents houses, and the rest is, like, you know, it really becomes very13)minimal in my life.
