Bic Runga于1976年1月生于新西兰基督城，父亲Joseph是毛利人，母亲Sophia是中国人。Bic Runga于1997年推出首张专辑《Drive》，即获当地Tui Awards四大奖项——最佳专辑，最佳唱片，最佳演唱表演及最佳唱作人。2003年推出第二张专辑《Beautiful Collision》。她擅长作曲作词，并懂玩奏多种乐器，在两张专辑中不但负责编曲作词和演唱，还亲自演奏。
