Women’s figure skating is the most popular figure skating event at the Winter Olympics. There are “queens and princesses of the ice” who have left their mark on the figure skating world, and there are certain figure skaters that ice skating fans should pay special attention to. These skaters may become the 2010 Olympic Women’s Figure Skating champions or medalists.
Kim Yu-Na is the 2009 World Figure Skating champion and the 2009 Four 1)Continents champion, and she may be the favorite for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Others to watch include 2006 Olympic silver medalist, Sasha Cohen, who has returned to 2)competitive skating after a three-year absence, 2008 World Figure Skating champion Mao Asada, 2007 World Figure Skating champion Miki Ando, and 2009 World silver medalist, Joannie Rochette.
Kim Yu-Na is also the 2007 and 2008 World Figure Skating bronze medalist, the 2007 Grand Prix Final champion, and the 2006 World Junior Figure Skating champion, and the 2006 Junior Grand Prix Final champion. She has won the South Korean National Figure Skating 3)title five times.
She was born on September 5, 1990, in Bucheon, South Korea. She is the first South Korean figure skater who has medaled and won at the 4)ISU Junior Grand Prix series, the Junior Grand Prix Final, the ISU Grand Prix series, the Grand Prix Final, and the World Championships. She is one of the most highly recognized athletes and media figures in South Korea.
Kim is the record holder for ladies in the short program, the free skating and the combined total under the ISU Judging System. Kim is the first female skater to surpass the 200-point mark and also the first female skater to receive a +2.20 grade of execution for jumps under the ISU Judging System.
As of December 2009, Kim is ranked first in the world by the ISU.
One of Kim’s signature moves is her bent-leg layover 5)camel spin, frequently called the Yu-Na spin. Her other signature move is a layback 6)ina bauer that she leads directly into a double 7)axel jump, to a double axel-triple8)toe loop jump combination or to a double axel-double toe loop-double loop jump combination.
Kim is famous for her technical brilliance, high jumps, huge ice coverage, fast speed, superior 9)artistry, lyrical style, grace and musicality, and for the great ice coverage of her jumps due to her high-speed take-off.
Kim Yu-Na 10)dazzled audiences in 2008 and 2009. Some say that she is “a cut above the rest.” She is ready for her first Olympic gold medal.

金的其中一个招牌动作便是原地的单腿屈膝燕式旋转,这个动作常常被称为“妍式旋转”。她的另外一个招牌动作是伊娜·鲍尔步马上接阿克塞尔两周跳,从而成为内点冰三周接后外点冰三周,或者内点冰三周接后外点冰两周再接后外两周的连跳。
金之所以名扬四海,是因为她具有出众的技术、大幅的跳跃高度、大面积的冰面覆盖、飞快的滑行速度、超群的艺术表现力、感情丰富的风格、优雅的动作和绝佳的音乐感,还因为她在高速起跳之后能达到非常好的腾空远度。
